EN 10365: Specification for hot-rolled I-beams and channels (I and H-sections)

Technical requirements and nomenclature of the EN 10365 standard

The European standard EN 10365 establishes strict regulations for nominal geometric parameters and mass per unit length for hot-rolled steel I-sections and H-sections. This specification is fundamental for the design of metal structures in industrial and civil engineering, ensuring the standardization of rolled products supplied by EV Group China.

The standard classifies the following profile types:

I-beam profiles:

  • IPE — beams with parallel flange faces;
  • HE — wide flange beams;
  • HL and HLZ — specialized extra-wide flange beams;
  • HD — wide flange column beams;
  • HP and UBP — bearing pile sections;
  • UB — universal beams;
  • UC — universal column profiles;
  • IPN and J — I-beams with tapered internal flange faces.

Channel sections:

  • UPE and PFC — channels with parallel flanges;
  • UPN, U and CH — channels with tapered internal flange faces.

It is important to note that the requirements of this EN 10365 standard do not apply to structural steel sections made of stainless steel grades. EV Group China provides supplies of hot-rolled steel that fully comply with these geometric tolerances and mass standards.
