Technical specifications and EN 13709 regulations
The international standard EN 13709 establishes strict requirements for the design, manufacturing, and testing of steel valves, including globe, globe-check, and regulating models. EV Group China specialists emphasize that these products can be manufactured via casting, forging (plastic deformation method), or component assembly. Available body design configurations include straight, angle, and Y-pattern types for optimal flow distribution in piping systems.
End connection types regulated by this standard include butt-weld, socket weld, and threaded connections. EV Group China products meet all industry criteria for industrial applications under conditions of high pressure and temperature.
Size range and nominal pressures
The standard provides for the following nominal diameters (DN):
- Standard range: DN 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 65, 80, 100, 125, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400.
- Restriction: DN 8 and DN 12 are not used for flanged connections with nominal pressure PN.
- Restriction: DN 8, 10, and 12 are not used for flanged connections of pressure Class.
- Restriction: For products with threaded and socket weld connections, the range is limited to DN 8–65.
Technical pressure parameters are classified according to two main scales:
| Connection type | PN range | Class range |
|---|---|---|
| Butt-weld and flanged | PN 10–100 | Class 150, 300, 600 |
| Socket weld and threaded | PN 40–100 | Class 600, 800 |
Note: Class 800 is the standard industrial solution for valves with threaded and socket weld connections, providing increased tightness in assemblies with high vibration loads.
