EN 1412 Standard: European Numbering System for Copper and Copper Alloys

Technical Standard EN 1412: Classification System for Copper Alloys

The EN 1412 standard establishes a unified European digital identification system for copper and its alloys. This specification is crucial for manufacturers and consumers of rolled metal products in Europe, ensuring unambiguous interpretation of material characteristics in technical documentation and procurement processes.

The numbering system implemented by EV Group China when working with copper rolled products allows for the systematization of new grade registration and simplifies alloy identification for engineering calculations.

Scope of the Standard

The provisions of EN 1412 cover the following categories of copper materials:

  • Materials complying with current European industry standards (clause 3.2).
  • Materials not included in European standards but requiring official registration and classification for international trade (clause 3.3).

Using this system allows EV Group China specialists to guarantee that supplied products meet strict European requirements regarding chemical composition and physical-mechanical properties.
