EN 1514 Standard: Technical Requirements for Flange Gaskets

Technical standards of the EN 1514 series for flange connections

The EN 1514 standard is a fundamental regulation in European engineering practice, defining geometric parameters, material types, and marking requirements for sealing elements used in PN-rated flange connections. EV Group China provides components that comply with these specifications, ensuring high tightness and reliability of pipeline systems.

EN 1514-1: Non-metallic flat gaskets

This part of the standard establishes dimensions and marking requirements for flat gaskets made of non-metallic materials (with or without reinforcement inserts). The products are designed for use with flanges according to EN 1092-1, EN 1092-2, EN 1092-3, EN 1092-4, as well as for pipe fittings according to EN 545, EN 598, and EN 969. The application range covers pressures up to PN 63 and nominal sizes up to DN 4000.

EN 1514-2: Spiral wound gaskets (SWG)

Technical regulations for spiral wound gaskets used in steel flange connections with flat or raised faces. The standard covers nominal pressures from PN 10 to PN 160 and nominal sizes up to DN 1000. EV Group China supplies SWGs that meet stringent mechanical strength and recovery requirements.

EN 1514-3: PTFE-enveloped soft gaskets

The regulation defines parameters for non-metallic soft gaskets enclosed in a PTFE protective envelope. This type of seal is effective in chemically aggressive environments for PN 6 – PN 63 flanges with diameters up to DN 600. The high chemical resistance of the material ensures the durability of the connection.

EN 1514-4: Metallic gaskets (corrugated, flat, or serrated)

The standard describes requirements for the geometric characteristics and marking of metallic gaskets without bolt holes. The profile can be corrugated, flat, or serrated, which ensures optimal contact stress distribution on EN 1092-1 flanges at pressures up to PN 100 and sizes up to DN 900.

EN 1514-6: Camprofile gaskets

Regulates the design and dimensions of camprofile gaskets for steel flanges. They are used in the PN 10 – PN 100 range with diameters up to DN 3000. This solution is preferred for critical assemblies subject to high cyclic loads, providing excellent sealing performance.

EN 1514-7: Metal jacketed gaskets

Establishes standards for metal jacketed seals that protect the soft filler from the influence of the operating medium. Applicable to EN 1092-1 flanges from PN 2.5 to PN 100. EV Group China offers solutions for challenging operational conditions.

EN 1514-8: Rubber O-ring gaskets

Dimension specification for elastomeric (rubber) O-ring seals intended for use with grooved flanges according to EN 1092 (PN 10 – PN 40 ranges). They provide a reliable seal at moderate temperatures and pressures.
