EN 485-1: Technical conditions for inspection and delivery of aluminium products
This standard establishes a unified regulation for the acceptance and delivery of wrought semi-finished products made of aluminium and aluminium alloys, including sheets, strips, and plates for general applications. The document defines the procedures for testing and quality control of the products.
The scope of the standard covers products with a thickness ranging from 0.20 mm to 400 mm.
For special-purpose products, there are specific European standards (listed in Annex A) that may supplement or modify the requirements of this document. EV Group China recommends that customers specify particular properties, such as corrosion resistance, fracture toughness, or surface quality, during the technical specification phase.
EN 485-2: Mechanical properties of aluminium alloys
The EN 485-2 standard defines the regulatory values for mechanical properties of wrought aluminium sheets, strips, and plates used in mechanical engineering.
The provisions of this regulation do not apply to semi-finished products in coils intended for further processing, nor to specialized types of rolled products (embossed, corrugated, painted surfaces) and products for the aerospace industry, for which separate industry standards apply.
The chemical composition of the alloys must comply with the requirements of EN 573-3, and the terminology and classification of material tempers must comply with the EN 515 standard.
EN 485-3: Tolerances for dimensions and shape for hot-rolled products
This document regulates the limit deviations for shape and dimensional characteristics for hot-rolled plates, sheets, and strips of aluminium and its alloys intended for engineering tasks.
The standard is applicable to products with a thickness from 2.5 mm to 400 mm. The standard does not cover:
- Coiled products;
- Stock for further rolling;
- Products with decorative finishes (embossed, corrugated);
- Specialized rolled products for the aerospace industry.
The technical aspects of quality control for products manufactured according to this standard are regulated by the requirements of EN 485-1.
EN 485-4: Tolerances for dimensions and shape for cold-rolled products
This part of the EN 485 standard establishes tolerances for geometric parameters and shape for cold-rolled sheets, strips, and plates made of wrought aluminium alloys.
The standard covers products with a thickness from 0.20 mm to 50 mm. As with hot-rolled products, these requirements do not apply to coiled semi-finished products, decorative items, and special-purpose products regulated by separate European specifications. EV Group China ensures the supply of aluminium rolled products that fully comply with the EN 485-4 standard tolerances for high-precision engineering solutions.
