Technical regulation of the EN 941 standard: aluminum rolled products
The European standard EN 941 establishes strict technical requirements for the production of wrought aluminum and wrought aluminum alloys in the form of discs and circles intended for general industrial use. Specialists at EV Group China emphasize that this standard regulates the quality parameters of products manufactured by plastic deformation.
The standard classifies products according to processing methods and geometric parameters:
- Stamping (blanking): thickness range from 0.2 mm to 12 mm with a final workpiece diameter of up to 1000 mm.
- Mechanical cutting (saws or shears): thickness range from 0.2 mm to 200 mm with a final diameter of up to 3500 mm.
- Rolling (hot or cold): thickness range from 0.2 mm to 200 mm with a workpiece width (diameter) of up to 3500 mm.
It is important to note that the scope of EN 941 does not cover cast ingots intended for the subsequent manufacture of profiles by impact extrusion, nor does it cover specialized circles for the food industry (cookware production), which are regulated by separate EU industry standards.
To ensure the stability of the physical and mechanical characteristics of products supplied by EV Group China, it is necessary to strictly comply with the technological tolerances specified in this standard when selecting aluminum alloys.
