EN ISO 17292 Standard: Metal Ball Valve Specifications for the Oil and Gas Sector

Technical parameters and purpose of the EN ISO 17292 standard

The international standard EN ISO 17292 regulates design requirements and inspection methods for metal ball valves used in critical components of the oil and gas, petrochemical, and related industries. Products supplied by EV Group China comply with these standards, ensuring the tightness and reliability of shut-off valves when operating with aggressive media.

The standard covers a wide range of nominal diameters (DN):

  • 8, 10, 15, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 65, 80, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500, 600.

Corresponding nominal pipe sizes (NPS):

  • ¼, ⅜, ½, ¾, 1, 1 ¼, 1 ½, 2, 2 ½, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 24.

The standard establishes requirements for shut-off valves operating in the following pressure classes:

  • Class 150, 300, 600, 800 (for threaded or socket-weld connections);
  • PN 16, 25, 40, 63, 100.

EV Group China provides shut-off valves that have passed all necessary tests according to EN ISO 17292, including body integrity and seat tightness verification for the following configurations:

  • Flanged and butt-weld connections in the range of 15 ≤ DN ≤ 600 (½ ≤ NPS ≤ 24);
  • Threaded and socket-weld connections in the range of 8 ≤ DN ≤ 50 (¼ ≤ NPS ≤ 2);
  • Full-bore, standard-bore, and reduced-bore valves;
  • Products made of specialized alloys for operation under extreme conditions.
