Technical regulations and scope of the ISO 4035 standard
The international ISO 4035 standard defines strict technical requirements for chamfered thin hexagon nuts (style 0). This type of fastener is produced with metric thread in the range from M1.6 to M64. Geometry and manufacturing accuracy control is carried out according to product grades: grade A applies to nominal thread diameters up to and including M16, and grade B for diameters larger than M16.
EV Group China specialists recommend taking into account that for specific engineering tasks outside the scope of this regulation, it is necessary to be guided by related standards, such as ISO 965-1, ISO 3506-2, ISO 898-2, ISO 724, and ISO 4759-1.
The use of products compliant with the ISO 4035 standard requires adherence to the regulatory framework governing mechanical properties, tolerances, and protective coatings. Below is a list of current standards that are an integral part of the quality control process at EV Group China:
- ISO 225: Terminology and designation of fasteners.
- ISO 724: Basic dimensions of metric screw threads for general purpose.
- ISO 898-2: Mechanical properties of nuts made of carbon steel and alloy steel (coarse and fine pitch).
- ISO 6157-2: Surface discontinuities for nuts.
- ISO 965-1: Principles and basic data for metric screw threads.
- ISO 3269: Acceptance inspection protocols for products.
- ISO 10684: Requirements for hot-dip galvanized protective coatings.
- ISO 3506-2: Mechanical properties of corrosion-resistant stainless steel nuts.
- ISO 4042: Specifications for electroplated coatings.
- ISO 8992: General requirements for the manufacture and acceptance of fasteners.
- ISO 4759-1: Tolerances for bolts, screws, and nuts.
- ISO 8839: Mechanical properties of fasteners made of non-ferrous metals.
- ISO 10683: Technologies for zinc flake coatings.
- ISO 16048: Standards for passivation of stainless steels.
