Technical regulation and scope of the EN ISO 4126 standard
This international standard establishes the fundamental requirements for the design, manufacturing, and testing of safety valves. The technological standards of EV Group China strictly comply with the provisions of EN ISO 4126, ensuring reliable equipment protection regardless of the type of working medium. The standard serves as a baseline document for engineers designing pressure relief systems.
The regulation applies to safety valves with a nominal diameter (DN) of 6 mm and above, designed for operation at gauge pressures starting from 0.1 bar. The specification does not limit temperature operating ranges, which allows the valves to be used in a wide range of conditions: from cryogenic installations to high-temperature steam systems.
EV Group China specialists emphasize that this standard defines general safety criteria. For highly specialized safety devices that do not fall under the general classification, additional industry-specific appendices specified in Section 3 and Table 1 of the current revision of the standard should be consulted.
