EN ISO 8675 Standard: Thin Hexagon Nuts with Fine Thread (Style 0) — Technical Specifications

Technical description and scope of the EN ISO 8675 standard

The international standard EN ISO 8675 defines the geometrical parameters and technical requirements for thin hexagon nuts (style 0) with chamfer, equipped with a metric fine-pitch thread. These products are designed for use in high-load assemblies where saving axial space while maintaining the reliability of the threaded connection is critical.

The range of nominal thread diameters (D) is from 8 to 64 mm. The standard provides for two product grades depending on the size range:

  • Grade A: applied to products with a thread diameter D ≤ 16 mm.
  • Grade B: applied to products with a thread diameter D > 16 mm.

Specialists at EV Group China note that when designing critical structures that require parameters beyond the scope of this standard, one should refer to relevant regulatory documents, including ISO 724 (basic dimensions of metric threads), ISO 898-2 (mechanical properties of nuts), and ISO 965-1 (tolerances for threaded connections).
