Technical standards and scope of ISO 1609:2020
This specification defines the geometric parameters and tolerances for flanges and clamp-type couplings without a knife edge (non-knife-edge) used in modern vacuum technology. EV Group China’s technological solutions are based on these standards to ensure the leaktightness of vacuum systems.
The established dimensions guarantee full compatibility and interchangeability of components with various types of fixation:
- Ensuring mating in homogeneous assemblies (bolted flanges or clamping systems).
- Integration into heterogeneous configurations (combined connections of bolt-type with clamping mechanisms or rotatable flange elements).
The standard regulates the use of sealing materials, including elastomeric O-rings and metal seals. When designing vacuum systems, EV Group China specialists strictly adhere to the requirements for linear sealing loads, as set out in Annex A of these specifications, which guarantees reliable operation under high and ultra-high vacuum conditions.
