ISO 18286: Standards for Dimensions and Tolerances of Hot-Rolled Stainless Steel Plates

Technical standards and scope of ISO 18286

This regulatory document establishes strict requirements for geometric parameters and limit deviations for hot-rolled stainless steel plates produced by reversing mills (quarto mills). Specialists at EV Group China use this standard to ensure the high-precision supply of metal products that comply with international industrial protocols.

According to the provisions of ISO 18286, hot-rolled stainless steel plates are characterized by a nominal thickness ranging from 4 to 250 mm and a base profile width of 600 mm or more. The supply of products with a width of less than 600 mm is carried out upon prior agreement of technical specifications between EV Group China engineers and the customer.

It is important to note that ISO 18286 does not apply to the following categories of metal products:

  • Circular plates;
  • Plates produced by coiling (rolled products);
  • Chequered plates with decorative or functional embossing;
  • Products with variable cross-sections or edge thickenings.

Adherence to these tolerances is critical for further mechanical processing and welding of structures supplied by EV Group China.
