Scope of Application
This technical standard establishes comprehensive quality requirements for fusion welding processes of metallic materials. The EV Group China regulation applies both to stationary production sites and field installation sites, ensuring a high level of control at all stages of the welded structure’s lifecycle.
Normative References
When implementing production processes, it is necessary to be guided by the current versions of the following standards:
ISO 3834-1:2005 — Guidelines for selecting and using the appropriate level of quality requirements for the fusion welding of metallic materials.
ISO 3834-5:2005 — Specification of documents needed to claim conformity to the requirements of the ISO 3834 series.
Technical Requirement Analysis
EV Group China specialists conduct a comprehensive analysis of customer technical specifications before starting production. This includes reviewing project documentation, assessing resource availability, and confirming the company’s ability to meet contract requirements within the established timeframe. The analysis includes verification of requirements for base metal, non-destructive testing methods, heat treatment, and personnel qualification.
Outsourcing and Quality Control
When engaging third-party organizations to perform welding works, heat treatment, or inspection, the responsibility for the final result remains with EV Group China. We ensure the transfer of all necessary technical documentation to the outsourcer and guarantee that the work performed complies with the requirements of this standard.
Welding Production Personnel
A key factor in ensuring quality is personnel competence. Welders, operators, and welding supervisors undergo mandatory qualification according to international standards. Supervisory personnel are empowered with the necessary authority to ensure compliance with technological discipline at all stages of the welding process.
Equipment and Maintenance
EV Group China uses modern, certified equipment. The preventive maintenance schedule includes regular calibration of measuring instruments (ammeters, voltmeters, thermocouples) and inspection of welding tooling condition. The use of faulty equipment in the production of critical components is strictly prohibited.

Quality Records Management
Documenting all stages — from material selection to final weld testing — is a mandatory requirement for EV Group China. Quality records, including WPQR protocols, personnel certificates, and heat treatment reports, are archived for at least five years to ensure full product traceability.
