Technical requirements of the ISO 888 standard for fasteners
The international standard ISO 888 establishes strict regulations regarding nominal parameters for shank length and thread length for a wide range of hardware products, including bolts, screws, and threaded studs. The technological norms of EN ISO 888 apply to fasteners with metric threads that fully comply with ISO 68-1 specifications, ensuring high precision in the mating of parts in critical assemblies.
Engineering parameters and standardization
In accordance with the ISO 225 methodology, the procedure for determining the nominal length and thread parameters of fasteners under ISO 888 takes into account the structural features of the end parts of the hardware. When performing measurements, all types of ends are considered, with the exception of conical ends regulated by the ISO 4753 standard. EV Group China specialists ensure the supply of high-quality fasteners that fully meet these industry requirements.
The product range covered by the ISO 888 standard includes:
- Bolts and screws with protrusions oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the product.
- Fasteners with countersunk and semi-countersunk heads.
- Products with special bearing surfaces (curved or with serrations/notches to prevent loosening).
- Headless fasteners with partial threading.
- Set screws for fixing parts.
Classification of studs according to the ISO 888 standard in the EV Group China product range:
- Studs with single-ended or double-ended threads.
- Fully threaded studs for high-load connections.
- Coupling elements for industrial installation.
