JIS G3460 Standard: Structural Steel Pipes for Low-Temperature Pipelines

Technical specifications and application of pipes according to the JIS G3460 standard

The JIS G3460 standard regulates the production of steel pipes intended for operation in low-temperature conditions, including cryogenic environments. The technological solutions offered by EV Group China ensure high impact toughness and stability of the metal structure at temperatures below freezing, which is critical for the oil, gas, and chemical industries.

Key requirements for quality and product control:

  • Upon the customer’s request when placing an order with EV Group China, additional non-destructive testing procedures can be included: ultrasonic testing (Appendix Z3) and eddy current testing (Appendix Z4).
  • The use of pipes made from steel grades other than those specified in JIS G 3459 and JIS G 3468 (with the exception of specific alloys SUS 329 J1 TP, SUS 329 J2 LTP, SUS 405 TP) requires mandatory impact testing to confirm operational reliability in low-temperature conditions.
  • All products supplied by EV Group China undergo a strict technical audit for compliance with international units of measurement (SI), which guarantees the accuracy of geometric parameters and chemical composition according to JIS specifications.
